{114/365} Happy Easter!

We woke up and went downstairs to see if "the bunny" as Aiden calls him stopped by.  Earlier in the week Aiden declared that he was going to work for the bunny.  Who can blame him, working with candy is quite a perk in his eyes!  Aiden loved searching for eggs and a few presents! 

 A couple of pictures on the deck before church.  Such a rainy, dreary day!

After church, we headed straight to Papa and Gram's house for another egg hunt!

 And then on the my aunt and uncle's house for brunch.  Aiden got busy rearranging everyone's place cards :).  I didn't really take many pictures- I always seem to do that and then regret it at family gatherings.  We do not see them nearly enough.

 I did get a picture of Aiden helping uncle Charlie feed the koi.  It sure made Aiden's day complete! hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

{111/365} Easter Prep

Making some Nước chấm or as Aiden calls it nước mắm which means just fish sauce...one of the few Vietnamese words he seems to remember in his talks with Sang.  It was one of the best batches I've made.  And if you asked for the recipe on FB, I haven't forgotten!  I'll send it!

I will  need to back date some posts because I only took a pic with my camera phone on those days.  I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have taken any at all, so I guess it's good to have around.

I got my little tax refund treat in the mail yesterday.  I love Luke Nguyen and love his cooking show...although I never feel the urge to cook when I watch, I just get the urge to go back to Vietnam and eat.! His mom wrote this book and his recipes are included in it.  The recipes I've looked at so far seem fairly easy and have easy to find ingredients. 


I also found a sweet deal on a new lens- like more than $100 cheaper than the amaz0n price sweet.  It's not my dream lens, but so far I've been happy with the pictures I've taken with it.  Unfortunately, the only pictures I got last night were of Aiden...in our basement closet, during yet another tornado warning.  He was completely freaked but immediately calmed down once we were in the safety of the closet. We made shadow puppets as Aiden calls them and played with flashlights.  No tornadoes but a very late night with both of us up past 11. Ugh.

Aiden had a great nap so he was in a good mood tonight.  I used a little incentive yesterday when he asked to go to Tac0 Bell- it's his favorite restaurant :).  I love their fresco menu (very low WW point wise!) so it's a win win eating out experience. I told him he could go if he brushed his teeth, let me give him his allergy nose spray and if he cleaned up all of his toys before bed.  Not one complaint and not one meltdown.  I think it's time to move to behavior/chore charts...

Miss Melissa let Aiden do his own stamps tonight.  He felt the need to stamp his nose. 

{106.107/365} Eggcellent Weekend

 Saturday was a cold and dreary day so after Gymb0ree and a nap we dyed eggs.  Aiden loved it!

 

 The finished product.  Luckily I eat hard boiled egg whites almost everyday.  Aiden likes them too so we won't have much problem finishing these off!  We'll have plenty of yokes if anyone is interested :).

 

Today after church, we went to my parents' neighborhood egg hunt.  So fun!

 I have no idea when he got it, but Aiden ended up with a golden egg and got to turn it in for a special prize!

{105/365} It's a Good Thing!

 It's a good thing that 80-90% of the time, Aiden is so happy, loving and cute.

 Because the rest of the time?

 He is downright grumpy. 

 And the meltdown?  Oh the meltdowns.  Epic! They just get more and more challenging the closer he gets to three.  They have gotten more intense and seem to last a LONG time.  But when he recovers, that happy, loving boy returns.  And thank goodness he does because I'm not sure how much this mama could take!
